"THE ORIGINAL APRIL FOOL!"

BONUS POST!!! Hmmm...this comic sounds familiar doesn't it? Well...this was a comic created during I DIG DUG's humble beginnings. I DIG DUG began running daily in The Lantern (Ohio State's daily newspaper) in February 1999, and this was my April Fools' Day comic from April 1999. From time to time, it's fun to look at all these older comics and characters to see how they've evolved. So, here we see how the characters originally looked. Matt had 'girly hair', the eyes were a bit larger, there's little exaggeration in the mouth, and Dug hasn't yet 'grown' his grey spots. Plus...look at those chubby, stubby hands and fingers!!! Like I said, it's sometimes fun to look at these older strips to see the evolution in the comic. Plus...it never hurts to drag up some old stories and update them. Hope you enjoyed this little jaunt down I DIG DUG memory lane. Hope everyone is enjoying the weather and Spring Break!!! Well...if you're on spring break.
