As I reread this strip, I was suddenly reminded of another "I DIG DUG Cannonball Moment" from last fall. You'll find (if you read a bunch of my comics...in which case I would question your sanity) that I tend to have running themes within I DIG DUG. Dug's "Cannonball" would be one of them. It's not the first time he's yelled that phrase while jumping into...well...whatever. Whether it be leaves in the fall, a pool in the summer, a snow fort in the winter (a VERY old strip), Dug's "Cannonball Special" is a running theme...one of MANY...within my comic. So, enjoy the "Cannonball Double Feature" (man I'm using lots of quotations today) and I'll see if I can find that old strip where he's jumping into the snow fort. Maybe I'll dust it off and get it on the blog. IF I can find it...-dug!
