"Santa CLAWS"

It's the return of Not-So-Super-Man, and his trusty sidekick Action Lass!!! For you IDD 'newbies', "The Adventures of Not-So-Super-Man" is the comic strip that Dug creates in hopes of publishing. It's kind of like the comic strip that the comic strip 'me' creates. Got it??? I manage to crank out a few NSSM strips each year, and this one is based off this really REALLY old drawing I did that I came across while digging Xmas decorations out of our crawl space. In one of my old ancient sketchbooks, I had drawn "Santa CLAWS". Seemed silly at the time, and I took that silliness to include it in this strip as he battles NSSM. It's supposed to be silly, with the creative play on words.
More holiday goodness tomorrow, and the annual Over-Crowded New Year's comic on Wednesday. CHEERS!!!

ASHTYN!!!
Hey, kiddo! How's everything going???
I'm glad to hear that you're still involved in art. My one fear when you moved is that you would lose the inspiration to create art that I hoped I instilled in you. You are an amazing, talented artist! E-mail some pictures of your artwork to me at school. I'd love to see them!!!
Yeah...I remember that picture. It's in the sketchbook that I'm still working in.
Take care!!! Talk to you soon.

Hi, everything has been going good. How about yourself?
Well, I lost a lot of interest in art the past 2 years but i'm starting to get into a lot more, and actually try. My art teacher told me that i should take art in highschool and if i wanted, try to get a career involving art. If i can figure out how to email them to you, then i will. we have a free draw project as the last one of the year. Do you have any ideas of what i should do?

While it pains me to hear that someone with the talent that you have has become disinterested in art, I am at least happy that you sound like you're getting back into it! That's a good thing!!! You are an amazing artist, Ash, and I knew it after your first grade year!!! :) SO...with that said...yes, yes, yes, take art in high school and start looking at art careers. Design toys, do interior decorating, whatever YOU are interested in!!! That's the big, most important thing. You can be a great artist, but if you're not doing something you enjoy, you'll think of art as a 'job' and not as a fulfillment, which it should be for you because you're so doggone talented!!!
Sorry...had to say it!
Now...you're final project of the year? You want my advice??? Do what makes you happy. Choose something you're either interested in or feel very strong about. Choose a medium that you want to explore further. Work in new ways with that medium. Be exploratory but not at the expense of forgetting what you already know and love about the medium. And when you're done...SEND ME A PICTURE!!!
Hey...I'm doing summer art camps again this summer. Interested??? They're $110, but rather cheap compared to art camps in Columbus and Delaware.

Hmmmm.. well i was hoping more along the lines of you telling me what to do.. but that works too. When i figure out what i'm going to do, i'll tell you.
I'll ask my mom about the art camp. One of my artworks is being considered for "best in show" and the school buys it for $50 and frames it. Even though i did it in one class, so it's really not too good.
