Comic strips are funny because the characters in comics always look the same. Same hairstyle, same shirts, same look, year after year after year. I understand why. Cartoonists need to make sure that readers associate a particular look with a particular character. Otherwise, people get confused. Well...there's the potential to cause confusion which is why nothing ever changes. So, I did this comic to kind of poke fun at comics. Carrie tries to change her hairstyle, ultimately ending up with the same one she's had since the beginning of I DIG DUG. As a side joke, Dug doesn't know what to say, because men never know how to answer women's questions of "How's my hair?", "Is this shirt okay?", or heaven forbid the dreaded "Do these jeans make me look fat?". Dug has no idea how to answer a question whose answer is "You're hair's the same as it always is". Honesty is the best policy...unless it leaves you sleeping on the couch for a week!

As a side note, I don't know what time zone Blogger is on, but I did NOT post this at 2 whatever in the morning. It's 6:13am. I don't know why I have to point that out...it just bugs me a little.

That's funny, 'cause I was just going to ask you why you posted this comic so late at night, but now I have my answer. One possibility for the time screw-up is the daylight savings time patch every I.T. department is frantically applying to their systems. If the US congress only know how much of a pain in the but this Daylight savings time was really causing...
Alright... I have a question. On Januay 5 of 07 you wrote a comic that stated that Dug and Matt were in 1987. I was wondering how old they must be cuz ya know they don't look that old and that was 19 years before 2006. That gives me the idea that if they are in college now they had to have been like 1 or 2 years old. Seriously, they do not look 1 or 2 in this comic. You better have a really good explanation on why they look so old or tell how this is even to make sense. it doesn't seem logically possible.THey have to at least be like 10 or 12 maybe even older.(What are they studying in college cuz that could affect the amount of time that they are in college???)
Ashtyn, sometimes you're just too smart! But...its easily explained. Just not right now. I've got a comic coming up in May that...kind of...adresses the issue of these characters age. Kind of. So, just sit back and be patient and enjoy the comics.
Oh...and SuperAshtyn debuts May 12th. Kind of. You'll see...
